Baluan Went To Town



Baluan National High School holds JS Prom in Fort Sarangani
25 February 2012. Crossing two regions, two cities and three municipalities, the 3rd and 4th year high school students of Baluan National High School of Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat travelled more than 24 hours to reach 73IB just to celebrate their Junior-Senior Promenade. Headed by their principal, Mrs. Alladin Grande, a total of 80 students and teachers enjoyed the serene beauty of Fort Sarangani as the venue of their activity.




 
The students experience the usual tank-riding, lunch-dining in Serenity Lounge and Serendipity Café, picture-taking and tour around the Peace Camp. It was an unforgettable experience for the students to visit urban area and even go to the beach. Mrs. Grande quoted “Baluan went to town,” she was overwhelmed with the kindness that the soldiers showed with them. “The accommodation and full support of the officers and men of 73IB are great that made our activity come into reality. The whole delegation could never forget the hospitality and I am sure that we will go back again,” Mrs. Grande said.




Themed with Hawaiian accent, the JS Prom of BNHS was graced by Councilor Sarah Fatima Maulana and Sanguniang Bayan Member Mariam Kanda of Palimbang. Maj Romasanta was their Guest of Honor and Speaker of said event.

17 February 2012, KCC Mall, GenSan City. Soldiers of Neutralizer Battalion join and participated during the Bloodletting activity sponsored by the GMA – Kapuso Foundation of Gen Santos City.

LTC Paquiao honored 49 Newly Promoted Enlisted Personnel of 73IB



11 February, 2012. Brgy Kamanga, Maasim, Sarangani Province.  LTC Emmanuel D Pacquiao (Res), Guest of Honor and Speaker during the Pinning of Ranks Ceremony of 73rd Infantry (Neutralizer) Battalion personnaly pinned the ranks of the 49 newly promoted enlisted personnel.

 
Dubbed as the Peace Camp, 73rd Infantry Battalion will soon construct an open basketball court sponsored by our own "pambansang kamao" Cong. Manny Pacquiao. He promised that sports capabilities of the soldiers should be enhance mirrored by himself as sports icon.

73IB Launch “Pamaskong Handog para sa mga Kabataang Lumad”


December 26-27,2011: One hundred twenty (120) children from Brgys Gazi of Kiamba and  Tinoto of Maasim, Sarangani Province, were treated to a Mall tour and food trip as Christmas gift from an unknown Philanthropist, jointly facilitated  by DXCP Gensan, Diocese of Marbel and 73IB.  The activity aimed to expose the children to city life in order to widen their perspective in life. After the day’s tour, they received gifts as they go back home.

Medical Experts Visits Fort Sarangani



December 22, 2011:December 22, 2011. Eighty Five (85) Army Reservists composed of doctors, nurses and other medical practitioners from St. Elizabeth Hospital, Inc. and Mindanao Medical Center, Inc., General Santos City visit Fort Sarangani to undergo a one-day marksmanship training. While enjoying the ambiance of the camp, they learned some of the fundamental soldier-skills.

73IB hosted World Teacher's Day


Kamanga, Maasim Sarangani Province - 73IB  hosted East Maasim District World Teacher's Day celebration at Fort Sarangani last October 5, 2011.
Ninety-eight teachers of the Department of Education, East Maasim District arrived at Fort Sarangani and warmly entertained by the 73IB soldiers. During this day the soldiers became  teachers, and the teachers became students.“As we celebrate the world teachers day, the 73IB men in uniform will act as your teachers just for today for you to enjoy what we prepared. You will learn that your soldiers are not only for war but your soldiers are also partners in nation building just like you. We are your soldiers, your defender and your friend.” Major Romasanta Executive Officer of 73IB said,during the opening program. 

Various activities were lined-up  for the teachers to enjoy and unwind from their stressful and demanding job. This includes the Information Briefing on what our unit is doing as partners in nation building; team building activities; singing and dancing contest together with the soldiers; and parlor games. They also experienced the Military "Boodle Fight", firing, the M16 rifle, Tank ride and tour around the camp.
